The iconic lead singer, and songwriter takes us on a journey of her sonic, cinematic collaborations including her Oscar nominated work on Where The Wild Things Are and Her. Karen will also be sharing with us some of the musical moments on film that have influenced and inspired her.

KAREN O

Since her career began, Karen O has consistently proven herself to be among the most diverse, influential, and transformative artists in music. As front woman of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, she has inspired a generation and played an integral part in what is commonly regarded as a revival era in rock. She has collaborated with musicians The Flaming Lips, Santigold, Trent Reznor, David Lynch, The Swans and has contributed multiple scores to critically acclaimed films. Amongst those were original compositions for 2009’s Where The Wild Things Are and 2013’s Her (for which she received Grammy Nominations in the category of Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media, and nominations for an Oscar and Golden Globe).   After releasing her 2014 debut solo album Crush Songs, Karen O was featured on composer Daniele Luppi’s album MILANO alongside collaborators Parquet Courts. In 2018 Karen O teamed up with Paris fashion house Kenzo and director Ana Lily Amirpour to create the original music film YO! MY SAINT. In March O released her latest project, a full length album titled Lux Prima, created in collaboration with Danger Mouse. The pair also worked to bring their album to life with an immersive multimedia experience – An Encounter with Lux Prima – that premiered at Los Angeles’ Marciano Art Foundation in April.
